The Royal Devon and Exeter hospital says there's been an increase in people attending its emergency department with flu. The RD&E is asking them NOT to do this as it needs to protect both patients and staff from the virus.
The hospital says the flu virus can lead to more serious illnesses among patients who're already vulnerable.
And there's also a need to safeguard staff from becoming ill, at a particularly busy time for the hospital.
Anyone with flu symptoms is advised to seek advice from their GP or a pharmacy, or ring the NHS 111 line.
People with appointments at the hospital who think they may have flu should ring the relevant department for guidance.
