Three crashes in one day leaves many injured

Police want witnesses

Yesterday (Thursday 19 November) Police attended three incidents in Mid Devon, North Devon and Plymouth which left several people seriously injured.

Officers were notified of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on a road at Millbarn Cross in Witheridge near Tiverton. The front seat passenger was taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment with serious injuries - where he remains at this time. 

Another crashed took place on Teats Hill Road in Plymouth, involving an electrically-powered scooter travelling towards the city’s aquarium. The driver of the scooter sustained a serious head injury- he remains in hospital. Police would like to thank the members of the public for their patience while officers investigated the scene.

In the evening a pedestrian and a bus were involved in an incident on Church Hill in Ilfracombe. A women was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene to investigate, supported by local officers.

A full investigation took place at the scenes in Witheridge and Ilfracombe and Police are appealing for witness for all three incidents - call 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk.
