Police investigating
An inquiry is underway into an arson attack in Torquay that has left three properties damaged.
Emergency services were called to Oakhill Road in the Torre area of the town at 9 p.m. on Friday night after several people called 999 reporting a property on fire.
One fire engine from Torquay and one from Paignton were initially sent, but because of calls subsequently received and information gathered by fire control, a further crew from Torquay was sent.
The fire was well alight when they arrived, so another fire engine from Paignton and an aerial ladder platform from Torquay were called for, along with a fire engine with flexi camera from Newton Abbott.
A fire had been lit in an external bin store and then spread to three properties. Two of the properties were 10 per cent damaged by fire and the other one by five per cent.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue say the fire was started deliberately. No one is reported hurt.
Police are investigating.
