New season underway

It's been a good opening day for Devon's football team as the new season gets underway.

Plymouth Argyle have taken to life seamlessly after 13 years away from the Championship, with a 3-1 win at home over Huddersfield town. They've had a flurry of big-money acquisitions in recent weeks.

New signing Morgan Whittaker got Argyle's first goal of the campaign and although the Yorkshire team came back swiftly with an equaliser, two goals in two minutes in the second half brought the points back to Devon.

In League One, Exeter City travelled to Wycombe Wanderers and came away with three points from their 3-0 victory.

They left Wycombe shocked with a goal in the first minute, and another shortly after made it 2-nil within five minutes of kick-off. It could have got better had Sam Nombe not missed a penalty in the ninth minute, but another goal didn't come until seven minutes until full-time. Aitchison. Aimson and Scott made it to the score sheet.

Torquay United are back in National League South after relegation at the end of last season. But it's got off to a reasonable start, with a 2-all draw at Dover.

Exeter City are in the automatic promotion places!
