Consultation re-opens on East Devon development plans

A new consultation on plans and policies for development in East Devon begins today, on the advice of a planning inspector.

The inspector thought the public should have a chance to comment on dozens of major changes made to the local plan.

They include the removal of some zones from the proposed development area in the grounds of the council's current headquarters in Sidmouth.

Also open to consultation is tighter environmental conservation in small rural towns and a more restrictive approach to commercial activity at the proposed business park in Sidford.
