Woman has head injury

A tall bearded man is believed to be behind an unprovoked attack in Cullompton on Tuesday night that's left a women with a minor head injury. 

Police were called at 8.50pm to the Lower Mill Lane area of the town following after the victim was reportedly grabbed by an unknown suspect. Although hurt, she was able to make her way to safety.

Police units including a dog and police helicopter searched for the suspect, but didn't find him. Detective Inspector Dave Pebworth says: “Based on the information currently available to us, this appears to be an unprovoked incident involving a man not known to the victim. At the moment we are working to establish the full circumstances and our enquiries remain ongoing to locate the suspect."

He's white, around 6ft 1ins tall, with a dark beard and was believed to be wearing a grey t-shirt.

Further enquires were carried out in the area on Wednesday and police have upped their presence in the area.
