New beach rescue hut

Exmouth's beach rescue team say they'll be able to work more efficiently - thanks to a new hut on the beach for storing their equipment.

The hut at Orcombe Point is being officially handed over to them this morning by the district council - although they've already spent some time making it usable after it had been standing empty for several years.

The hut was formerly used by the council-run lifeguard service which is now being run by the RNLI - but the beach rescue club also play an important safety role.

They say having the equipment at hand will save vital time during a rescue.
