VIDEO: Devon fishers fear for future
People who make their fishing in the south west are outraged after the government cut the quote for pollock to zero.
The fish, which sustains many fishermen and women in Devon and Cornwall during the winter months, can't now be legally caught.
There are no other species available that can be line caught, which means a fallow and worrying period until they can caught bass in the summer.
The government says the restriction is to ensure that pollock stocks are sustainable.
But some people whose livelihoods depend on fishing say they had been led to believe that Brexit would ensure a better deal for their industry. They are disappointed that the decision is a British one.
Torbay MP Kevin Foster says it's a complete change to the situation a while ago when fishermen couldn't catch enough pollock to get anywhere near the quota.
