Exeter employers are being called upon to pay at least the living wage of 7 pounds -85 an hour, to help reduce poverty and inequality.
The local Quaker group say many people who have jobs are still having to rely on the food bank because their wages are so low.
It's part of a national campaign which claims the UK is one of the most unequal countries in the industrialised world.
Locally they say one in four workers is earning less than the living wage of £7.85 per hour.
