Questions Asked Over Broadband Contract in Devon

Questions need to be answered over the rejection of BT's superfast broadband contract by Devon and Somerset councils, according to a local councillor.

BT was expected to be awarded the next phase of the roll-out contract - but at the end of June the councils said the company's proposals weren't good enough value for money.

The work is now out to tender again - further delaying the upgrade.

Councillor Alan Connett from the Liberal Democrat group hopes a scrutiny meeting later this year will examine what led up to the unexpected U-turn.
