Unemployment down in Devon

The number of people claiming Jobseekers' Allowance in Devon has fallen for the third consecutive month.

In May the claimant count went down by more than 500.

Year on year the number of claimants is down by 14.6 per cent, which is a bigger improvement than the national picture.

Youth unemployment rate is also down... it's nearly 23 per cent lower now than it was in May 2012, and is also falling at a faster rate than the national average.
