New study links fuel poverty with asthma

Fuel poverty increases the risk of asthma - according to Exeter University's Medical school.

Lack of heating and poor ventilation leads to dampness and mould - which contribute to asthma.

The team studied well-insulated social housing that need less heating - and also found that the energy-efficient measures could increase dampness and mould, adding to the asthma risk.
