The centre says an "experienced" climber died on Friday 25th May.
In a statement, the Quay Climbing Centre said "We are devastated that an experienced climber suffered a tragic accident ...while independently using the climbing facilities at the centre. Our thoughts are with their family at this difficult time. The accident occurred on our roped climbing walls, not in Clip 'n Climb Exeter. Our staff cooperated fully and professionally with all the emergency services involved and we would like to thank them for their support."
