Pensioner seriously injured
A woman in her 80s is seriously hurt following a collision with a van in Cullompton following which a driver has been arrested.
Officers and paramedics were called to Fore Street in the town around 10.40 a.m. after a Ford Transit van hit a pedestrian.
A local woman sustained serious injuries to her head and legs and was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment.
Fore Street was closed for around five hours while an investigation took place. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
A man aged in his 30s was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs.
