Exeter City have signed former Chelsea, Swindon and Blackpool goalkeeper Rhys Evans on a one year contract.

The 30-year-old played for non-league Staines Town last season after a successful career, making 118 caps for Swindon, 32 for Blackpool and two for the England under-21 side.

He joins Exeter City in a role expected to be as number two to Artur Krysiak, but with the capability to take a longer term place in the side if required.

The Grecians' manager, Paul Tisdale, said, "He's an experienced goalkeeper. The opportunity was there for us to sign him because of a year he spent out of the League game, so he was desperate to get back in. He's someone I'd have no problem playing in the first team should he earn it, or should there be an opportunity".

City midfielder Jimmy Keohane has also agreed terms for a new one year contract.
