Police are involved.
A student at St Peter's Church of England Aided School on Quarry Lane in Exeter has been temporarily excluded after he was found carrying a knife in his school bag.
Headteacher Phil Randall said: “A male student brought a table knife into school.”
“We confiscated the knife and have also temporarily excluded the student and spoken to him and his family, who are mortified.” “The police will be involved in supporting this situation.”
“There is obviously heightened awareness of knife crime nationally but this is an extremely rare incident for St. Peter’s and our response demonstrates how seriously we take the issue.”
