A Freedom of Information request to the council shows that there have been 1,380 parking fines issued in 2016, 2017 and 2018 to foreign-registered vehicles that remain unpaid and written-off.
The value of those tickets, up to April 17, 2018, comes to £79,965.
The council was asked – How many parking fines issued by the council to foreign-registered vehicles in 2016 and 2017 – and 2017 to date in 2018 – remain unpaid and written-off by the authority.
In response, the council said in 2016 there was 532, in 2017 there were 780 and in 2018, up to April 17, there were 70.
The total value of those unpaid and written off tickets in 2016 was £30,640, in 2017 was £45,165 and in 2018 to April 17 was £4,160.
