A lorry driver is in a critical condition in hospital after an accident on the M5 Motorway near Exeter.
The carriageway was shut in both directions yesterday between Junctions 28 and 29 after the crash, but has since reopened.
A two hundred metre length of the central reservation had to be repaired after the collision between the truck and a car. The injured driver was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where his condition is said to be stable. A husband and wife in the other vehicle are thought to have suffered minor injuries.
Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened just after nine O'Clock yesterday morning, to come forward.
