Man's jaw broken in attack

He's been on a liquid diet

A 20-year-old man's been beaten up so badly in Barnstaple that he could only take liquids for two days.

The attack in the North Devon town last Sunday took place in broad daylight and left him with a broken jaw. He was punched four times in the face and headbutted in Bear Street, close to Alexandra Road at around 3pm.

Police are looking for two offenders. One is thought to be in his early to mid-20s and was described as wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black shoes and an orange Canada Goose coat. He was walking with a black and brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog. The other is thought to be in his mid to late teens and was described as wearing a black tracksuit with a hooded top with red drawstrings underneath.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or drivers who were in the area at the time and have dashcam footage capturing the incident, or the suspects.

Call 101 if you can help, quoting reference CR/019396/20. Calls cost 15 pence.
