Conditions treacherous
A young man has died following an early morning collision at Kingsteignton near Newton Abbot.
Emergency services were called at 2.20 a.m. on Friday after being notified of the single vehicle incident, involving a blue motorcycle at Strap Lane.
The 20-year-old biker from the Newton Abbot area sustained serious injuries and died a short time later at Torbay Hospital. His next of kin have been informed. The road was closed for around five hours whilst a forensic examination of the collision scene was conducted.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen either the collision or the vehicle shortly before. CCTV along Strap Lane or relevant dash cam footage would also be useful. Please call police on 101 and quote log number 88 of 21 August.
