Newton Abbot attempted robber sought

He demanded man's phone

Police investigating a report of an attempted robbery in Newton Abbot on last month are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

An alleged victim was approached by a man who threatened him and demanded he hand over his phone on Sunday 12 March between 8.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Highweek Road.

The suspect is reported to have been seen in Market Street, Highweek Street and Exeter Road.

Members of the pubic outside Newton’s Free House, in Highweek Road, may have witnessed or have information about the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, of slim build and 5ft 10in tall.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, black North Face mask, grey North Face puffa jacket, black baggy tracksuit bottoms, blue and white Nike Up-Tiempo trainers and was carrying a blue vape.
