Three vehicles involved
Fire crews have used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue someone trapped in a vehicle on Four Elms Hill near Newton Poppleford in East Devon early on Sunday morning.
The three-vehicle incident left that person needing hospital treatment.
Fire crews from Sidmouth and Exmouth along with a heavy rescue vehicle and a support pump from Middlemoor attended.
The stretch of road is a notorious accident hotspot. Several people have been killed or seriously injured on it over the years and the speed limit was recently reduced to 40 mph.
No details have been released about the condition of people in the other vehicles.
