Extra police patrols and street pastors will be out in Exeter tonight for what's probably the biggest party night of the year.
There will also be additional police on duty in Exmouth where the New Year's Eve fancy dress celebrations and fireworks attract hordes of revellers.
Officers say they want people to enjoy themselves, but that means not coming to any harm or getting into trouble as a result of too much alcohol.
