Network Rail say they're looking at ways to prevent severe weather and flooding from disrupting train services in Devon.... following the major problems at the end of last year.
The rail link between Exeter and London was broken at Cowley Bridge after the river Exe burst its banks... in November the line was closed for a week and it happened again in time to disrupt many people's Christmas travel plans.
Flood resilience work isn't included in Network Rail's strategic business plan up to 2019, but the Secretary of State for Transport has asked the company to assess what help it needs to avoid similar disruption in the future.
