Stephen Cook, 45, killed in Sidwell Street
A homeless teenager not long out of the care system has been found guilty of murder.
Brian Jewell, 19, killed another homeless man, Stephen Cook, in the city centre in January.
Mr Cook, who was 45, was also living on the streets. He managed to stagger into a shop and call his daughter before he died.
Mr Jewell was found guilty of murder and possessing a knife in a public place following a trial at Exeter Crown Court.
The £10 camping knife used in the murder had been bought just the day before. The wound that killed Mr Cook penetrated his heart.
Mr Cook was remanded in custody and will be sentenced next month.
