If you get a phone call offering a council tax refund but asking for your bank details - hang up.
Exeter city council has had several reports from people who've been called from an 0203 number by someone falsely claiming to be a council representative.
The council says it would never ask for anyone's bank details over the phone and that this is a recognised scam.
