A local animal welfare charity is among the organisations calling for a change in the law on dangerous dogs.... in the wake of the shocking attack on a 14 year old girl in Greater Manchester last week.
Jade Anderson died after being mauled by a pack of out-of-control dogs at a friend's home.
The incident highlighted a current loophole in the law, preventing prosecution if the dog attack happens on privately-owned land.
Teignbridge-based Animals in Distress say owners should be legally obliged to make sure their dogs are never out of control, and that this would also reduce other problems such as attacks on farm animals.
