A study by researchers in Exeter seems to have confirmed that 'you're as old as you feel'.
They interviewed older people to find out whether they perceived themselves as frail and elderly, or had a more energetic outlook on life.
Those who felt 'old' were less likely to exercise or take part in social activities.. which led to poorer health and a reduced quality of life.
The research, by the University of Exeter Medical School, is to be presented at the British Psychological Society Conference in Harrogate today.
